Description
Container Formats and Design
Custom injection-molded food packaging containers can be developed for yogurt and dairy products, ice cream and frozen products, sauces and condiments, snacks, food tubs and lidded containers. The format is matched to the packaged product and production needs.
Container geometry, dimensions, opening and lid configuration, decoration area, stacking and handling are project-specific. Review the container’s function and appearance alongside filling, storage, transportation and branding requirements. Explore our custom plastic containers and custom plastic pails and buckets for other packaging applications.
Mold and IML Fit
The mold must match the container’s shape, dimensions, cavity arrangement, demolding conditions and injection molding process. For in-mold labeling, coordinate the container, label, mold, molding machine and robot as one production system.
Review artwork, label dimensions and labeling area alongside mold structure, label pickup and placement, robot access, product takeout direction and production cycle. The In-Mold Decorating Association provides industry information about IML and packaging applications.
Production and Supply Scope
HecosTech can coordinate container design, mold development, IML labels, robot handling and supporting automation according to the project. Downstream operations may include conveyor connection, stacking, placement and inspection, depending on the agreed requirements.
The final configuration follows the actual packaging product and process. Identify the required downstream operations and production needs before confirming the proposal.
Food Packaging Questions
Can the container use IML?
Yes, when the container, label, mold and handling arrangement are designed together. Label insertion, molding, takeout and downstream handling must be coordinated for the intended production cycle.
Does the project need a custom mold and automation?
Mold configuration depends on the container geometry, cavity arrangement, release conditions and labeling requirements. Automation is project-specific; it may combine label insertion, robotic takeout and selected downstream equipment rather than requiring the same setup for every container.
What should I send for a proposal?
Provide a container drawing or sample, dimensions, intended use, matching lid or closure requirements and decoration requirements. Add available mold and machine details, target production requirements and downstream operations if tooling or production integration is also required. Contact HecosTech to discuss the container and automation scope for your project.
