Packaging Options & Order Conditions
Package Drawing & Use
The supplied body, lid and other matching components are defined for the intended contents and capacity. Each order uses an agreed product revision.
Material & Contact
State the requested resin, color, appearance and product-contact conditions. Regulatory or food-contact suitability must be specified and confirmed for the actual material and market.
Capacity & Fit
Capacity, rim and closure fit, nesting and stacking are evaluated against the agreed drawing and reference sample. Functional checks follow the intended use.
Color and IML decoration follow approved artwork, label coverage and molded-sample appearance. Tooling or a production system is scoped separately from finished packaging.
Demand & Supply Scope
Quote finished packaging for the initial order and repeat demand. Define mold ownership and who supplies the mold, labels, robot and machine interfaces; list these items separately from the molded packaging.
Samples & Acceptance
Approve capacity, closure fit, appearance, function and packing against the agreed revision. Record trial findings, scope exclusions and delivery destination before releasing production.

Define Empty and Filled Handling Separately
Nesting for empty delivery alone does not establish stacking approval after filling and closing. Treat these as separate purchase requirements.
| Packaging state | What to review |
|---|---|
| Empty containers: delivery and feeding | If nested delivery is required, define the nested quantity and stack height, how units must separate, and any feeding or destacking arrangement. Review the actual body, rim, decoration and packing configuration with the intended equipment. |
| Filled, closed containers: storage or transport | State the contents and filled mass, matched lid, stack arrangement and storage or transport conditions. Request product-specific loading evidence for that configuration; an empty stack or a lid-fit sample alone does not demonstrate filled-stack performance. |
For pails and buckets or custom containers, keep the two sets of findings distinct in the sample approval record. Send both operating states and unresolved questions with your packaging engineering brief.
Industry references: Jokey’s technical service overview separates destacking, filling and palletisation; its Technical Guidelines, Rev. N (07.2022), sections 7 and 10.1 tie stacking and load guidance to product specifications and conditions. These are supplier-specific examples, not HecosTech load ratings or test results. Custom Plastic Packaging Questions
Confirm product definition, decoration, supply scope and sample approval before comparing packaging proposals. These answers set the right questions for an engineering review.
Can I start from a packaging sample?
Yes. Send the available sample references and explain the intended use. Identify any dimensions, material, mating features or appearance requirements still missing so the review can establish a clear product definition.
Is there a standard packaging MOQ or lead time?
No single public commitment applies to every design. Share the initial quantity, repeat demand, variants and requested timing. Material, tooling, sample review and supply scope need to be considered before the order terms are confirmed.
Can an existing mold be used for packaging production?
Provide the mold information, ownership details and available product references. Its suitability, condition and any transfer or production arrangements require review. An existing mold does not automatically establish that it can be used unchanged.
Does artwork approval also approve the finished IML container?
No. Artwork approval covers the agreed graphic reference. The molded component also needs the relevant dimensional, appearance and functional review. State which sample and revision are approved and what remains unresolved.
Send Your Packaging Requirements
Send the package drawing or sample, capacity, material or contact requirements, closure, decoration and demand. State whether you need finished packaging, tooling or both.
Attach available drawings, photographs and supporting references to your email.
Turn a Packaging Brief Into a Manufacturing Plan
Custom plastic packaging decisions are clearer when the product application, shape, capacity, material, color, decoration, mold, and production method are considered together. For IML packaging, the label, mold, robot, and injection molding process are connected parts of the same project.
Define the packaging need
Describe the container, lid, cup, food packaging, pail, bucket, or other plastic packaging format together with the intended application and appearance requirements.
Choose the production path
Review whether the project needs custom plastic parts, injection molding, IML decoration, or a combination of related manufacturing steps.
Align the connected components
Where IML is relevant, consider the label design, IML mold, robot handling, and packaging geometry as a connected production workflow.
Related Manufacturing Elements
Explore IML automation systems, plastic injection molds, in-mold labeling plastic labels, and in mold labeling robots to understand how the components relate to a packaging project.
